    NOTES

  • INTRO: Like Lilah, Eda suffers a rough awakening, rallied by by four delightful creatures into the deceptive, illusion-heavy forests of Ke-Waihu. She has come awake during the Hunting season, and the state of disrepair of her garments suggests she has unknowingly been following the beasts for a number of hours now. Travelling together, both Eda and Lilah suffer from a strange mental haze and an initial inability to focus, which improves gradually over time. They cannot understand each other at first, but can quickly gain this ability if they pick up some of the communication devices dropped around the forest by others who have been chased during the hunt.

Eda and Lilah 'gleefully' discover they have been adopted as the children of these beasts, who escort them to a large woodland lake, where other villagers have been rallied and taken captive. The undead lord Beastmaster, who is visiting Ke-Waihu, has summoned his animals and is giving them a scrap of coarse, red cloak to scent — urging them to find the former wearer of this garment in the forest. The Beastmaster releases some of the captive villagers, but is distracted by the call of a long, serpentine woman with a large head and hair that braids into her snake tail.

From here, Lilah and Eda can help each other slither away from their beastly captors unnoticed, can combine forces to help some of the other captives escape, can use their found communicator devices to get in touch with the network at large and coordinate a rescue, or... whatever comes to mind! Feel free to use the latest log to make your relevant top levels/threads, start new logs, make network posts — whatever works!

Once she reaches the village of Ke-Waihu in the morning, Eda encounters Taksui, who recognises her as an otherworlder. Taksui informs her that she has reached the world of Akhuras, where undead factions battle each other and the living for control. The undead summon otherworldly reinforcements, to enslave or weaponise them in the conflict. Taksui serves as liaison to the elusive Merchant, who finds and transports such newcomers east, where beacons might return the visitors back to their home worlds.

Eda is introduced as a new member of the Ke-Waihu village and asked to or tricked into drinking an elixir that will let her take over and atone for the sins of a village ancestor. Devout villagers believe this will gradually right the wrongs that have infected the community. You can find her ancestral curse here — enjoy figuring out how to atone for it! Check out how ancestral curses manifest and decide which of his two sins you’d like to play with.

Eda has also received a ’family unit’ and housing assignment. The villagers of Ke-Waihu believe the housemates are genuinely part of a family or clan — so try to cozy up.
