arc vii assignments
Friends, countrymen and Ephesians — CTRL + F your character's name to find out their mod-assigned Arc VII arrangements!
Players who didn't submit role preferences weren't given a mod-assigned character role, but are welcome to create one — you can have any civilian affiliation you want, outside of roles in politics or infiltrating Messalina's camp.
Please get in touch if your character assignment doesn't work for you, and we'll figure something out!

CIVILIAN OCCUPATIONS
CIVILIAN OCCUPATIONS
✘ Characters are supplied passport papers and either a recommendation or the resources to enter their occupation of choice.
✘ The Merchant pays for their board in one of the civilian districts and provides a monthly stipend of 500 gold pieces (~$1,000) for personal expenses.
✘ While civilian roles have less starting advantage in politics or military, characters can go in and out largely unnoticed and can interact with any of the other classes easily. Your unquestionable asset is discreet information gathering and liaising. They can also put a good word in to earn a crowd's support of whatever motions the politicians currying votes need passed.
CLARA OSWALD
ROLE
Virgin priestess, paraded as a sign of fortuity and homed in one of the temples of the Chained God. Allegedly found among the farmers of the Hives, whom she impressed with her holiness and kindly spirit. Brought into the citadel to inspire the upper echelons. Modestly dressed and soft spoken at all times.
SCOPE
Easy access to temples and priests, can call upon some faithful senators.
HERMIONE GRANGER
ROLE
Peanut seller — provided with cart-stand and regular peanut supplies. A fixture of gladiator arenas and the marketplace, privy to everyone's gossip. Allowed near gladiators, and even in the Hand's barracks, the Senate floors and the grounds of the Chained God's temples. Everyone loves peanuts! *or dies trying.
SCOPE
Limitless. One of the few people who can get anywhere and has a decent enough excuse to do so.
ALOY
ROLE
City Watch guard — an overworked, underpaid detective by any other name. Assumed to have transferred from the Hives clusters and therefore treated as a bit of a rookie peasant who must be introduced to all the watch roads and practices. Can be assigned either day or night shifts (player's choice). Can also call on other members of the City Watch for help, should things get a little dangerous.
SCOPE
Can access most public spaces of Ephes, irrespective of curfews, and enter some delicate villas. Can also put in a good word with the City Watch for political purposes — check in with City Watch representative Jon Snow.
KAMALA KHAN
ROLE
News and advertisement-shouter in the marketplace — primarily working the morning shift. A city watch guard (or four, during days of sensitive announcements) is constantly nearby to ensure no retaliation is taken against the actual messenger.
SCOPE
Quite literally the most important voice of the market, able to spin and doctor an announcement as fit to get the best public reaction. Use your powers wisely, Spiderman.
RED
Augur, reading fate in blood, fire and entrails — or making a good show of it. Called for both public functions in the Senate or market, to decide the best days when to proceed with an event, or whether to do so at all. Considerably influential, with one... partisan read able to stall or stay major advances.
SCOPE
Largely interacts with markets and temples, but can be called upon — or make her way, overcome by prophecy — to some noble homes.
NYNAEVE
ROLE
Healer to gladiators — it's no pretty sight fixing up fighters who go back in the ring the next day, but someone's got to do it. Has Laetio's permission to come and go and attend to both humans and the demonic creatures that hunt them. Given her discretion, she is also at times invited by noblemen to attend to the medical needs of their servants and of anyone who gets sick under their roof, but who should not have been there to start with.
SCOPE
Good access to the gladiator squad, can also enter some noble homes.
