Eastbound is primarily an invite-only game — each existing player can currently invite up to one person per month, or get in touch about further invites. Existing players can hold two characters in game. A third character can be applied, if players can prove they have met activity requirements for two consecutive months with their existing two characters and have stayed engaged with the game. If you don't have an invite, somehow stumbled upon this neck of the woods, and you’d like to stay, drop the mod journal a line — we'll try to figure it out.
As of Oct. 1, cast/game caps are off. Please note, as of Dec. 1, Eastbound only has 3-4 months of gameplay left.
WHAT CHARACTERS CAN BE APPLIED?
YES: canon and original characters, if they have a solid and consistent personality and background. Characters brought in after they've died are a-okay. For characters taken from a time point just as they're in the process of dying, please read below on meeting medical requirements.
NO (at this time): real people, original characters set in a canon environment, characters from canons or canon instalments that have been released for less than one month, characters with imported development from other games (CRAU), alternate universe, or gender-swapped versions of canon characters.
Children or characters with very specific medical/magical/environment needs: appable, but please make a note of how your character will ICly meet their requirements and stay alive. Likewise, if you are applying for a character taken just as they're dying, provide a suggestion for how they can be kept alive on arrival (this might be easier in some app cycles than others). You can bend the world a little to make miracles happen (ex: a substitute for the medication your character needs to survive can be found for a high price at certain apothecaries, etc.)
Characters that were dropped or swept by activity checks: yes, but they’ll come back without their previous memories, if they are applied in by a different player.

NOTES
■ The creatures frequently collapse in fits of anxiety or agony, failing to calm each other down.
■ The creatures harness the dark water, using it to treat and patch up their wounds.
(Please share some of this with the class!)
You three can choose whether Jens, Souji and Hijikata furtively exit the cave while the beasts sleep or head off hunting, or whether they’re still semi-surrounded when they head off and have to fight for their safety. Prepare for a skirmish, if so, but if it’s any consolation — characters retain their weapons, and some rusty swords litter the floors, as remnants of… previous guests. As a treat, they can also find translation and communication devices, alongside clothing rags and some fire kindle among the remains on the cave floor. Fire (torches or magical) notably deters the creatures from approaching, while sound draws them and reinforcements closer. It emerges that the trio is within the labyrinthine depths of a volcano, and must make their way out quickly — as another minor earthquake wrecks the site, and insufferable warmth starts to overwhelm. (Note: the volcano does not erupt.)
If the trio make it out, they find themselves at the feet of the volcano, facing forest ground, at night. It just so happens that they are arriving with at start of the Hunting season and must spend the night escaping the Beastmaster’s xenomorphic creatures and other, more human pursuers. Pair up or split ways!
Once in Ke-Waihu, come morning, Jens is finally discovered and taken in by Taksui, who recognises him as an otherworlder. Taksui informs him he has reached the world of Akhuras, where undead contingents fight each other and the living for control. The undead factions summon otherworldly reinforcements, to enslave or weaponise them in the conflict. Taksui serves as liaison to the elusive Merchant, who finds and transports such newcomers east, where beacons might return the visitors back to their home worlds.
Jens is introduced as a new member of the Ke-Waihu village and asked to or tricked into drinking an elixir that will let him take over and atone for the sins of a village ancestor. Devout villagers believe this will gradually right the wrongs that have infected the community. You can find his ancestral curse here — enjoy figuring out how to atone for it! Check out how ancestral curses manifest and decide which of his two sins you’d like to play with.
Jens has also received a ’family unit’ and housing assignment. The villagers of Ke-Waihu believe the housemates are genuinely part of a family or clan — so try to cozy up.
