Thank you for your application!

ADMIN

  • When you have a second, have a last read through the game rules and comment to the TAKEN LIST.

  • Join [community profile] eastbound, [community profile] lostcompass, [community profile] westwhere. Feel free to make an OOC intro post on [community profile] lostcompass, if you want!

  • All game-relevant updates will be posted on [community profile] lostcompass, but you can also consider following [plurk.com profile] eastbound. There is an informal optional game discord server — you’ll get a private message with an invite, once you comment to the Taken List.

  • Like it says on the application page tin — you can have a maximum of two characters in the game, and you can invite one new person in per month.

  • If you’re not already served on that front, we have some custom codes to help you set up a character inbox or permissions post. Both are entirely optional, and feel free to customise at will!

  • Your character is exempted from activity requirements this month.

  • We are in the last stage of Arc II: Taravast. We’ll be heading into the travel interlude to Arc III shortly.

  • That timeline point to keep Moiraine alive is fine. As a courtesy, if you don’t mind not referencing the healing until 30 December, if that’s possible on your side, that'd be great. Alternatively, minimising those references as much as humanly possible. This isn't a small ask, as she might be prone to thinking, “It sure was nice to have survived,” but — anything you can do towards mentioning it as little as possible for six days would be fantastic.

If you think that might be a bit challenging to juggle, we can have Moiraine arrive wounded and get immediately collected by the healers of Taravast. They owe the existing party many a favour, so patching her up for the cause should be fine — wikia doesn’t mention she was wounded by a magically or otherwise uniquely poisoned blade, so we can assume her injury can be healed regularly. Happy for us to accommodate whatever works most comfortably on your side.

  • You’re just a day late to vote on the Arc III destination — the group has chosen the House of Ravens. If you don’t mind taking a look at the write-up when you have a second and advising if any of the creatures mentioned (ravens, serpents, nagas, woodland spirit animals) conflict with potential phobias on your side, appreciated! We'll make every effort to minimise triggers.

    NOTES

  • INTRO: unfortunately, as Moiraine arrives just on the precipice of the group’s exit from Arc II (Taravast), there are not any immediate plot-heavy introduction options available for her just yet. However, she’ll be slated for the spate of quests that kick off in early January (with it staying entirely at your discretion to participate, once quests have been revealed).

For now, Moiraine joins Wicked Thistle in stumbling into Taravast through the citadel’s ancient transport beacon. The existing party attempted — and briefly succeeded — to start the gateway, with some members even making it home... before its last powers were depleted. As a result, the beacon spat back some of the later travellers, also clawing some fresh party members from their own worlds. Thistle and Moiraine are the lucky two brought in. The link will give you a better description of the 1/5 stars travel experience.

If Moiraine’s healing and conjuration skills ever intersect to the point of her being able to sense the power of objects (rather than only of organic or living things), she is welcome to feel that the beacon’s energies have been fully and irrevocably exhausted. The gateway feels not merely emptied now, but barren.

As a result of being brought in by the beacon, Moiraine’s abilities will be muted at first, but will naturally recover within 1-3 days. The exact period of her recovery and the extent to which her powers have been silenced at first is entirely at your discretion.

Moiraine will be taken in by the Merchant’s associate, the sorceress Karsa, and supplied a communication and translation device. Karsa will explain how Moiraine finds herself here and summarise the story so far.
