SETTING

Eastbound is a panfandom campaign-based fantasy game where characters are summoned into war-torn Akhuras and promptly skip town east to escape eerie curses, undead hordes, debt collectors, harried natives seeking discount Chosen Ones and a mutinous bear.

Along the way, they’ll solve one too many supernatural mysteries pro bono, evade their warlord hunters, sabotage the occasional city-state, meddle with magic they’re unequipped to handle, side-eye their dubious benefactor and all around downvote their caravan experience on TripAdvisor. Maybe the last eastern portals still have a final gasp of magic in them to ferry them home.

Started in March 2021, the game has a two-three-year scheduled lifespan.

The bullet-point edition:

■ Eastbound is a fantasy game divided into Arcs set in various locations of war-savaged Akhuras.

■ Characters summoned into Akhuras can escape their captors and join the Merchant’s party east to Shar-Nazhin, where some unconquered portals remain to return travellers to their home worlds.

■ ...or they can stick it out on their own, hunted down by largely undead hordes. It’s a free world. For now.

■ While each Arc will feature overarching plot elements, how or if assignments are completed, along with where the good people are ultimately headed to next, will depend on character actions and/or out-of-character votes.

■ You can expect anything from mystery, magic, horror, heists, lighter events and bona fide hustling.

■ Player plots and suggestions for further locations and bestiary entries are loved, please & thank you.

■ Play nice, be kind, have fun — and laugh far too much. That's the agenda.
