Thank you for your application!

ADMIN

  • When you have a second, have a last read through the game rules and comment to the TAKEN LIST.

  • Join [community profile] eastbound, [community profile] lostcompass, [community profile] westwhere. Feel free to make an OOC intro post on [community profile] lostcompass, if you want!

  • All game-relevant updates will be posted on [community profile] lostcompass, but you can also consider following [plurk.com profile] eastbound. There is an informal optional game discord server — you’ll get a private message with an invite, once you comment to the Taken List.

  • Like it says on the application page tin — you can have a maximum of three characters in the game, and you can invite one new person in per month.

  • If you’re not already served on that front, we have some custom codes to help you set up a character inbox or permissions post. Both are entirely optional, and feel free to customise at will!

  • Your character is exempted from activity requirements this month.

    NOTES

  • Spock is welcome to bring his communicator, but it wouldn't really function or capture any comms wavelengths while here, unless you create a comm network for it. Sorry, buddy! No ships passing nearby.

INTRO: Spock joins the group during our latest event. He remains a nominal member of the Queen Zanyra — he may travel freely by rowboat and spend time on the Pariah, but he will always be guaranteed a sleeping hammock and a meal on the Queen Zanyra. Here, the pirates extend Spock their hospitality by gifting him this dashing hat to cover up his “unfortunate rabbit ears.” Perhaps, with the help of this new sartorial choice inflicted on him, Spock too may find himself a wife. The pirates may occasionally also shake their heads and politely offer Spock their share of carrot rations.

One member of the crew is inevitably less amused by his appearance: when Spock first encounters Quicksilver Sam aboard the Pariah, the good captain appears terrified of him, dissolving in a fit of panic and wild muttering. His priests and Queen Zanyra leader Caladan Kreil gently peel him away with reassurances that all is well, urging the captain back into his cabin.

As he retreats, Quicksilver points back at Spock, screaming that, the likes of him should be at sea, in the sea, dead beneath, only the sea’ll have him, dead, what’s his ilk doing here, come and gone aboard a ship, saint it, saint it now, don’t you see him, give him to the sea, flames have you, what are you paid for.

Caladan Kreil later reassures Spock that Quicksilver Sam has consumed too many of his sedative opiates. Spock may simply wish to stay out of his way for the rest of the day, Caladan Kreil says. True to form, Quicksilver Sam does not have a similar reaction, if he sees Spock again, although he appears... somewhat ill at ease in Spock's presence.
