Sure! Sorry, I do see I left out some context.

The Curse of Tiamat is an evil being that Rachel and her superhero team accidentally let loose when they stopped a sealing ritual. To be fair, it looked a lot like a demonic summoning ritual at the time, and the team is made up of teenagers who act first, think later (or never).

Her friends/teammates are Roxy Van Halen (Powerchord), a teen pop star who uses her superhero career as PR; Benjamin Howells IV (Brass Bear), the latest son of a family of superheroes, all carrying the Brass Bear name; and Rebecca Faraday (Umbra), a history nerd who accidentally ended up having a fragment of a dark being inside of her when she stumbled into an evil ritual. The four of them protect Halcyon City as the "Glitzkrieg" (Roxy came up with the name and nobody else could come up with anything better) against threats as varied as arsonists trying to pull insurance scams, to the demonic Curse of Tiamat.

The Curse of Tiamat was drawn to Umbra, and possessed her because of the fragment of darkness inside of her. Umbra, having done research on what had happened to her already, gave Rachel the obsidian in case something bad happened, because of all the heroes on their team she trusted Rachel the most to do what needed to be done. Rachel's crush on Umbra made it difficult to stab her, but before collapsing, Umbra said that she knew Rachel could be trusted.

HexaDyne is actually pursuing Rachel, because she's the proof-of-concept for their super-soldier serum. Her father is actually alive and leading the hunt, but she doesn't know that.

Here's an additional sample, showing her more chill side that comes out when she's with people she trusts:

Flick.

Damn, no dice. She missed. Rachel tried again.

Flick. Whack.

"Ow!"

Gottem. She grinned as Ben stooped down to pick up what he'd been struck in the back of the neck with, and turned to glare at his attacker.

"Rachel!"

"What?" she said.

"Why did you flick a gummi bear at me?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," said Rachel, putting a handful of gummi bears in her mouth. "But if anyone did, I'm sure they were trying to get your attention."

"For what?" He flicked it back at her, and she lazily reached out and grabbed it.

"Well, what're we even doing tonight? Same thing we do every night, right? Try and take over the world?" She examined the gummi bear, and, deciding that the five-second rule had been in effect, popped it in her mouth.

"We've tracked the Curse of Tiamat to three possible locations," Umbra said. "They're all Catholic churches over 100 years old that don't see much use." Then she wrinkled her nose. "Gross, Rach."

"It was fine," Rachel said. "So once we find it, we can give it the ol' metaphysical smackdown, huh?" She cracked her knuckles. "Becca, you can take care of the meta, I'll take care of the physical." She hoped that would get a laugh out of her crush, and it at least got a chuckle. Almost made the whole demon-on-the-loose thing worth it. Almost.

"Sun's going down. We better start looking, 'cause of Ben's new curfew. Don't want him turning into a pumpkin," Roxy teased, and stretched her arms.

"We do have to prove we're not a bad influence, after all," said Rachel. "Which we're not. Once your dad gets to know us, he'll love us. Promise."

Forty-five minutes later, Ben broke down the door of a 156-year-old church. But at least it was for heroic purposes.
