  • Join [community profile] eastbound, [community profile] lostcompass, [community profile] westwhere. Feel free to make an OOC intro post on [community profile] lostcompass, if you want!

  • All game-relevant updates will be posted on [community profile] lostcompass, but if you’re fond of plurk, consider following [plurk.com profile] eastbound.

  • Like it says on the application page tin — you can have a maximum of two characters in the game, and you can invite one new person in per month!

  • If you’re not already served on that front, we have some custom codes to help you set up a character inbox or permissions post. Both are entirely optional, and feel free to customise at will!

  • Your character is exempted from activity requirements in August.

  • Diego’s abilities are barely there, Caped Crusader fine!

  • Let’s give this man a dozen knives. He needs them.

  • We have just kicked off Arc II: Taravast — have a read of the main setup! Diego will be joining the team of Vannozza, and he will be assigned the identity of a speaker of animal tongues, descended from wolves and carrying the spirit of such a creature.. He will easily gain the attention of sorcerers.

    NOTES

  • INTRO: having just started Arc II, we’re a little light on immediate plot-heavy opportunities, but Diego of all people shouldn’t be left bereft of his exercise, despite that. He will come awake in one of the many mountain-side underground temples of the now-open and previously haunted Stairs of Sighs canyon passageway. No more tar pits, cursed songs and harpies — just the debris of the collided horsecar in the distance, the signs of previous encampment and.

    Wolves.

    So many wolves.

One might wonder when an entire population of feral canine ancestors relocated in the span of day and efficiently migrated its ecosystem to a priorly abandoned passage — but, really, one (being Diego) is better off running. Hard. Fast. All day and all night. It’s up to you if Diego lives in true horror of the wolves, goes man vs nature on them, or pulls a Jungle Book and gets adopted into the pack. Either way, after three days of survivalist horror (or furry bffdom), Diego (and his wolves) can reach the convoy of Lady Odile, in hopes of reuniting himself with her and the caravan that comprises his family —

...only to be turned away. Because wolves.

Then, he is briefly saluted by the Taravast gate guards and considered for entry into the magical citadel —

...only to be turned away. Because wolves.

Then, he is spied by a mission of martyrs leaving Taravast’s academies and hoping to spread the good word of suffering in the name of enlightenment, and they stop, and they wish to befriend these feral creatures who inspire them in their simplicity —

...only to be turned away. Because Diego.

Finally, Macaluso’s guard, come to welcome all of their lord’s suitors and their retinue, take stock of Diego. Consider him. Squint at his strange garments, his canyon stink, his canine companions. And they say, Ah, yes. Adonis among us.

‘lo, Diego is welcome into Taravast, and briefly brought to the palazzo to await his change to present himself to Macaluso. With his wolves. To everyone’s gladness, he is first recognised as an outsider by the sorceress Karsa, an employee of the party’s Merchant benefactor who is currently journeying with them. She claims him as a party member they lost along the way. With his wolves. She will provide Diego a proper, thralled artefact to serve as a translation and communication device. The wolves get nothing. She can also update Diego on the story so far.

He’s stuck figuring out what to do with the (five) wolves, though.
